CARPANA is the most primitive knitting instrument originated in Anatolian Yoruk culture. As a hand crafted unique mechanism of coordinated holed plates which are used to tie the woven ropes has spread among diverse Anatolian cultures, which discovers diverse patterns as well. In its early uses they were functioned to tie down the yoruk tents and securing the horse carriages. Representing a temporary solution to stabilize the place, so far it has symbolized the strong ties of the Anatolian
culture.

In our “Neighborhood coalison movement” we would like to start up CARPANA with each individual awareness and will for the common goal of strengtening the ties of our culture, whereby once again we will tie and crown diverse cultures those yet assimilated and underestimated by recent hierarchies in society. In its wheels the system witnesses the loss of sense of belonging, alienation, and social disjunctions as well as monotony and ignorance. This congeneric societies then can be adapted to the desired format more easly. The implementations under the “Kentsel dönüşüm” decree has major interventions to the cultural and social ties which has been established over the centuries and these sactions are aimed to erase these cultural and social bindings. As KSL we do resist to any trauma by factious and compulsory understanding as a uniting wheel in where every individual plays a vital role in turning gears.

In order to achieve this we invite and welcome everybody from every walk of life to hold a tie and participate turning the wheels of CARPANA
